I’m always on the lookout to cooking simply for my family, while also trying to find new favorites that are both nutrient-dense and kid-friendly. Meal kit delivery services have continued to grow in number and popularity, perhaps even more so during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recently, I opted to try some products from Hello Fresh. I received two meals at no charge and was not additionally compensated for this review. All opinions are my own.

My Review
My family and I tried out the Buffalo Chicken Tacos and the Tex-Mex Pork Enchilada Bowls. Both meals were flavorful, easy to prepare, and kid-friendly. I agree that the company does not skimp on the protein, which is a huge plus!
I thought the recipes were very easy to follow, so much so that I even multitasked effectively, making both at the same time, for a mix and match Mexican-style feast on a busy weekday evening.
I like the make-your-own plate approach at dinner time, especially since we all have slightly different eating preferences. I eat low-carb to help manage my type 1 diabetes and it was easy to avoid the unwanted carbs, by focusing on the slaw, veggies, and protein, while also substituting my own low-carb wraps for the traditional ones.
The food didn’t just please the adults but was also toddler-approved. The meals had just the right amount of spice – bold enough to be flavorful but not too overwhelming for a child.
Summary
Overall, I was impressed with the company’s services. The variety of options (you can choose from a menu of over twenty different meals every week!) are especially great, as you can mix and match for the various preferences in your family. I really appreciated how easy-to-prepare the meals were, too! I have sampled products from various similar companies in the past, and I would not hesitate to recommend Hello Fresh to anyone looking to save some time in food prep, while eating well, and also minimizing food waste!
